If you weren&#8217;t able to make the event, read on for a\u00a0high-level\u00a0recap!<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Maricela Alberto,\u00a0a Senior Legal Specialist at Qualcomm, kicked us off and discussed her participation\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">on the board for\u00a0LatinQ, which supports Latinx-focused events as well as work with the Society of Hispanic Engineers for network and career development.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Lorena Santos,\u00a0a first generation Mexican-American\u00a0and\u00a0a Staff Mask Layout Designer at Qualcomm,\u00a0shared how\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Qualcomm is the #1 Fabless semiconductor company\u00a0and has now driven\u00a0the evolution of wireless\u00a0for 35\u00a0years.\u00a0Lorena also discussed how\u00a0Qualcomm\u00a0pioneered the technologies powering the future\u00a0such as the innovative technologies in their cars, and took us back by covering the history of\u00a0Qualcomm\u00a0and\u00a0how Qualcomm introduced\u00a0the\u00a0first 5G modem.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Next was Nery Lara who\u00a0is a Software Engineer at Qualcomm.\u00a0She\u00a0touched on 5G and\u00a0discussed how Qualcomm is bringing a\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thinkabitlab.com\/5g-academy\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">next-gen experience to this type of technology<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0such as\u00a0f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">iber-like data speeds, low latency for real-time interactivity (great for streaming Netflix!),\u00a0uniform performance,\u00a0and massive capacity for unlimited data.\u00a0Not to worry &#8211;\u00a05G will work on 4G or 3G networks! To put it in simple terms, what would take you 1-4 days to download a video on\u00a02G would take minutes in 5G.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Janet Tisnado, Principal Manager and Layout Designer at Qualcomm, with over 17 years of experience,\u00a0introduced us to the world driving automation, known as C-V2X.\u00a0She went into the capabilities of the C-v2X and that\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Qualcomm has a vibrant ecosystem of C-V2X solutions \u2013 ready for deployment NOW!\u00a0Whether or not you\u2019ve envisioned a world of automated driving, it\u2019s coming sooner\u00a0than you think.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Lauren Picado, a Systems Test Engineer at Qualcomm, switched gears to Mars. Did you know that\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Qualcomm was involved with\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qwdfdE6ruMw&amp;t=7s\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Mars Helicopter<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">!? YES \u2013 this project began in 2014 and cost around $80M in development.
