September 2019<\/strong> – There are more than 5 million Latino-owned businesses across the United States according to a report released by the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative<\/a>\u2014technology being one of those business categories.<\/p>\n

Although there are millions of Latino-owned businesses, the lack of STEM representation is even more prevalent among Hispanics who as a whole have only earned 8 percent of degrees in STEM fields<\/a>. Latinas hold a mere 2 percent of the computing workforce<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With the growing focus of Latinas in STEM roles and businesses, it’s no surprise organizations such as #LatinaGeeks have received a strong embrace from communities throughout the United States.<\/p>\n
